Training Program Basic Manufacturing Program

Turning Operator to Production Readiness (Basic)

Back to Services

Program Description

A competency-based basic training program designed to prepare turning operators for production environments. Participants develop fundamental knowledge and practical skills in conventional turning operations, machine setup, cutting tools, workholding, machining parameters, measurement, quality control, and safe working practices, progressing from basic operation toward producing workpieces according to technical drawings and specified tolerances.

Certification -
Duration 40 JP

Method

Theory briefing, instructor demonstration, hands-on machine practice, guided exercises, troubleshooting, and production-oriented practical projects.

Requirements

Basic understanding of mechanical/manufacturing fundamentals.
Able to read basic technical drawings and use basic measuring instruments.
Physically and mentally fit to participate in workshop-based practical training.

Target Participants

Beginner turning operators.
Vocational school graduates/students in machining or manufacturing.
Production personnel requiring basic turning competency.

Learning Output

Participants are able to safely operate a conventional turning machine, select and use appropriate cutting tools and workholding methods, apply basic machining parameters, perform dimensional measurements, interpret basic technical drawings, and produce simple turned components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.

Program Advantages

The program emphasizes direct hands-on practice and production-oriented competency, enabling participants to connect fundamental machining knowledge with actual turning operations, dimensional control, quality requirements, and workplace safety.
