Program Description

This competency-based training program develops practical TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding skills for industrial fabrication and manufacturing applications. Participants learn TIG welding principles, equipment preparation, tungsten electrode and filler metal selection, welding parameter setting, joint preparation, welding techniques, and basic weld inspection. The training progresses from fundamental operation to production-oriented welding practice and competency assessment.

Method

Classroom instruction, instructor demonstration, hands-on welding practice, guided exercises, defect analysis, workplace simulation, and competency-based assessment.

Requirements

Participants should have basic knowledge of workshop practices and occupational safety. Basic experience in metalworking or welding is recommended to support effective hands-on practice.

Target Participants

Welding operators, fabrication technicians, production personnel, junior technicians, vocational school graduates, and individuals preparing for TIG welding work in industrial environments.

Learning Output

Participants are able to prepare TIG welding equipment, select appropriate tungsten electrodes, filler materials, shielding gas, and welding parameters, perform TIG welding on common joint configurations, and inspect weld results according to specified work and quality requirements.
