Engineering Simulation using SolidWorks CAE

Back to Services

Program Description

This program is designed to develop participants' foundational competency in engineering simulation using SolidWorks Simulation, based on the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method. The training covers CAE and FEA fundamentals, simulation study preparation, material properties, boundary conditions and loading, mesh generation and refinement, static analysis of parts, assemblies, beams and trusses, and interpretation of structural analysis results. Through theory, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and engineering case studies, participants apply simulation as a practical tool to evaluate design strength, identify potential failure, and support faster and more efficient product development before manufacturing

Certification -
Duration 16 JP

Method

Blended learning, combining focused instructor-led theory, SolidWorks Simulation demonstrations, individual hands-on computer practice, engineering case studies, simulation-result discussions, and coaching during practical activities.

Requirements

Understand basic technical drawing principles.
Have basic 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
Basic understanding of engineering mechanics is an advantage.

Target Participants

Product Design Engineers
3D CAD Drafters
Product Development Engineers
Mechanical Design Engineers
Design and Manufacturing Technicians
Engineering students and instructors

Learning Output

Participants are able to explain fundamental CAE and FEA concepts, operate SolidWorks Simulation for structural analysis, prepare simulation models with appropriate materials, loads, fixtures, and boundary conditions, perform static analysis on parts, assemblies, beams, and trusses, generate and refine suitable meshes, interpret stress, deformation, strain, and factor-of-safety results, and prepare a technical simulation report to support engineering design evaluation.

Program Advantages

The program provides a practical introduction to SolidWorks Simulation that connects FEA concepts directly with hands-on engineering applications. Its combination of demonstrations, individual practice, case studies, result discussions, and coaching enables participants to develop simulation skills while applying analysis results to real design evaluation and engineering decision-making.
